The Deep Blue That is Watson

Wait.. this is actually kind of scary. It is akin to being on the edge of the reef when you are diving in the ocean. Being on the edge is not necessarily scary in and of itself. What is scary or at least makes me nervous is the knowing that you do not know what is just beyond the precipice.. It is the knowledge that you do not know what is lying just beyond the range of your visibility out in the deep blue.

The Deep Blue.. IBM Watson.. A platform for cognitive business.. A ”cognitive system enabling a new partnership between people and computers.”  With Watson and to a lesser extent tools like Cortana and Siri, I really feel like we are seeing a new naturalized language interface really emerge. It is at the same time amazing and scary. We are at the edge of the reef.
