Early this September Google launched the Chrome web browser which was quickly critisized for it's data leakage through the Google updater service and it's license policies (which have since changed). What many people are not aware of is that the real technology behind Chrome is Chromium.

Chromium does not have many of the "features" included in Google Chrome, namely the Updater and the End User License Agreement but I like it better that way and I am sure most of you do too.  It is truely an opensource browser distributed under the BSD License (license info here).

This blog is here to promote this great lightweight web browser and to provide a binary version of Chromium to End Users, so that everyone can use it without worrying about some silly License or Google tracking your web browsing history.

You can download the Chromium Source from their website here or you can save some time and download the compiled binary package that i've made available here.
